Microcosm vs mood12/9/2023 it can be used to great effect just as a granular delay or even for real-time full-wet processing, and the sounds can get really wild or go into total destruction if you wish. the "sound mangling" consists of a lot of preset granularisations, pitch-shifts etc which do let you mess with them more than some granular enthusiasts seem to think, but still for such a huge pedal there is not a lot going on and you have to just like the sounds.īlooper has I suppose less going on in terms of tweakability of the granular algorithms on there, but still somehow it feels more like you can craft unique sounds and it becomes more flexible when you stack modifiers. I had Microcosm for a while and found it a little too sterile for my tastes, pretty uninspiring and without the degree of tweakability I would want from a granular processor. They are too far different to compare and apart from the basic looping there is very little overlap. List of recommended Youtube gear channels!
